FEA of concrete-filled circular steel tubular members with inner cross-shaped steel under bending load
Based on the reasonable material models of concrete and steel, finite element (FE) models of concrete-filled steel tubular members(CFST) and concrete-filled circular steel tubular members with inner cross-shaped steel under bending load were established and verified by the experimental results using the ABAQUS software. Then the typical member of concrete-filled circular steel tubes with inner cross-shaped steel under bending load was designed to investigate the mechanical characteristic and working mechanism. The parametric study of the main factors, such as core concrete serength, material yield strength of steel tube and cross-shaped steel, steel ratio of tube and cross-shaped steel, was also carried out to research the rules. The results show that the deflection curve of the typical bending member can be regarded as sine half-wave curve. The M-φ curves can be divided into elastic stage, elasto-plastic stage and plastic hardening stage. The ratio of steel tube has a significant influence on the bending capacity while the strength of cross-shaped steel has little influence.
