NUMERICAL STUDY FOR MAINTENANCE OF FROZEN SOIL SUBGRADE USING A STRUCTURE FILLED WITH PHASE CHANGE MATERIAL
To maintain the stability of the frozen soil subgrade,a phase change structure formed by blocks filled with phase change material was proposed, and the effect of this phase change structure on protecting frozen soil was studied by numerical simulation. The results show that the phase change structure decreases heat flux from the outside to the permafrost layer, increases the position of the 0℃ isotherm, reduces the thawing core in the permafrost subgrade, and thus improves the stability of the permafrost subgrade.
