Taking a 6-story office building as an example,this paper analyzes the working principle of a frame structure system with a small number of shear walls and provides design ideas.The small number of shear walls set up in this structural system mainly provides stiffness for the structure to meet the elastic inter story displacement angle limit,but it cannot become the first line of defense.Therefore,the bearing capacity design of the frame structure should adopt pure frame structure and frame shear wall structure envelope design.
