Reflecting on the Design of Healthy Built Environments from a Historical Perspective in the Field of Public Health and Architecture
The COVID-19 Epidemics spread rapidly through the medium of the built environment and pose a great threat to people's health. The unfavorable habitat environment exacerbates the spread and development of the epidemic. It is considered more pragmatic to examine the design of healthy built environments based on the perspective of the public health. This paper reviewed the discussions on the"healthiness"of building in the fields of public health and architecture in different historical periods.Through case studies,it illustrated the need to quantify design strategies for the built environment in the post-epidemic era,and to further improve the"epidemic confrontation"system of the built environment for public health and the healthy building ecosystem for new ways of living and production.
