Research on the fundamental natural period formula of the frame-core wall structure
During the design process of high-rise buildings,it is often necessary to control the fundamental natural period to achieve a more reasonable design.Considering the existing theoretical research on the fundamental natural period of buildings, there are explicit formulas for the shear wall and frame structures which are dominated by bending or shear deformation, while lacking the explicit formula for the frame-core structure which is commonly used in high-rise buildings.Based on Hamiltonian's principle, this paper derived the explicit fundamental natural period formula for the frame-core structure by variational method.By introducing cooperative period coefficient of bending and shear, the explicit formula is finally obtained which also takes the axial deformation of the frame column into consideration. Finally, the explicit formula is used to calculating the results of finite element models which shows the good accuracy of the prosed formula.
