Out-of-plane behavior of partially-restrained steel frame with RC infill walls
In order to systematically investigate the out-of-plane behavior of partially-restrained steel frame with RC infill walls(PSRCW),the benchmark model of PSRCW is designed.Subsequently,a total of six series with sixteen FE models are designed, and the effects of the steel column section,height-to-span ratio, axial compression ratio, steel beam stiffener number,RC infill wall thickness and opening rate are considered. The finite element analysis is carried out by using ABAQUS program, and the influence of relevant design parameters on the out-of-plane bearing capacity, the distribution of out-of-plane force, and failure mode of PSRCW are discussed. The analytical results showed that the main influencing factors on the out-of-plane behavior of PSRCW are the steel column section, axial compression ratio, and steel beam stiffener number. The relative parameters, including the height-to-span ratio, steel beam stiffener number,RC infill wall thickness, and opening ratio, significantly affected the internal force distribution of PSRCW.The failure mode of PSRCW is improved through the change of the height-to-span ratio and steel beam stiffener number.
