Analysis of the Similarities and Differences in the Construction of Theravada Buddhist Architecture in Pu'er,Yunnan
Theravada Buddhist architecture located in Pu'er of Yunnan Province is located between Xishuangbanna and Lincang,and its geographical dimension is lower southerly than that of Lincang.In the long-term development process,due to the influence of Dai Thai culture and Han culture in the surrounding areas,the main hall of Theravada Buddhism in this area show a trend of gradual transition from the traditional Dai style to the Han style from south to north,roughly forming three typical Theravada Buddhist hall form characteristics of Jingmai type,Menglian type and Jinggu type.This thesis uses the three typical cases for a systematic comparative analysis,and compares them with Theravada Buddhist hall in Xishuangbanna and Lincang,in order to show the similarities and differences of Theravada Buddhist hall architecture in Pu'er area,and at the same time reflect the unique construction techniques of Theravada Buddhist hall in Pu'er area in some architectural spatial forms and local decorative structure treatment,so as to show readers the different types of styles,regional characteristics and causes of the main hall architecture of Theravada Buddhism.
