This paper mainly investigate the anti-aesthetic tendency of the Japanese architect Kazuo Shinohara.First of all,it discusses the core of Shinohara's whole architectural thought,which is precisely because of the focus on the core and the neglect of the aesthetic shape.Secondly,it discusses the internal context of the development of Shinohara's style in the five periods.The above two aspects respectively constitute the basis and logical devel-opment process of anti-aesthetic tendency.Finally,this paper discusses the anti-aesthetic dilemma in Shinohara's architectural theory:the spiritualization of anti-material theory and the architecturalization of urban chaos theory.
