The designer of"the Crown of Thorns",Spanish architect Fernando Higueras,is a distinctive figure in the world of architecture.He is a true"rebel"in the fervent modernist movement,and his splendid design works-even those that remain only on paper-continue to influence architects in Europe and around the world.Howev-er,research on Fernando Higueras is extremely rare,and it is almost impossible to find a Chinese or English paper about him.Through detailed reading of Spanish materials about Fernando Higueras,on-site investigations of his completed works,and communication and visits with relevant scholars and institutions,this article provides an in-depth analysis of his works.It interprets his design ideas from three perspectives:tradition and eternity,order and structure,nature and organics,and combines with the current situation of local architecture creation in China to explore Fernando Higueras's thoughts and actions,and their implications for the development of the Chinese ar-chitectural design discipline and industry.
