This paper reviews the course"Towers and Bridges"at the College of Architecture and Urban Planning,Tongji University, highlighting the core idea of performance-based tectonics as exemplified in the coupling of performance-based design and robotic fabrication. This empirical teaching approach promotes collaboration among undergraduate, master's,and doctoral students, exploring Al-driven performance-based tectonics theories and design methods,to foster interdisciplinary and cross-cultural design thinking and innovation awareness and establish a new paradigm for structural performance-based tectonics.
