Constructing the Territory:Socialist Landscape in Architectural Journal 1950s-1980s
Taking the"Special Edition on Urban and Rural Planning"in Architectural Journal during the Great Leap Forward as a starting point, this paper examines the process of turning space into territory in the context of large-scale rapid construction.By analyzing the mega spatial imagination, resource allocation, knowledge production, and construction activities between the"fight against nature"of the 1950s-60s and the"return to nature"of the 1980s,it reveals the significance of"gardens"and"dwellings"in the construction of the Chinese socialist landscape.
