In-between a GardenAn Graphical Analysis of Wang Xuezhong Art Institute(Mian Garden)
The design process commenced at the site of Wang Xuezhong Art Institute and concentrated on the two design issues:stylistic coordination and spatial enlargement.Architectural layout,compositional methods,and formal strategies were considered in relation to these challenges.The strategies are revealed through a comparison of multiple versions of the archives,on-site research,modeling,and graphic analysis.Then the designer's operational path of integrating classic composition methods with traditional Chinese forms under demanding site conditions is analyzed.In this way,the design methods and limitations of modern Chinese architecture at that time can be seen.
