Distribution Characteristics and Conservation Strategies of Prehistoric Sites Based on Visibility Analysis:Exemplified by Jiazishan Sites Group of the Lower Xiajiadian Culture
This article focuses on Jiazishan sites group in the Banzhijian river basin of the Lower Xiajiadian culture(2200-1600 BCE).Utilising GIS(geographic information system)spatial analysis technology based field investigation, the article in-terprets the spatial distribution characteristics of the prehistoric sites from the perspective of vis-ibility through viewshed analysis and line of sight analysis. It then combines and weights the data of viewshed area and line of sight number to propose the concept of comprehensive visibility indicators, proving that the sites group is a large-scale,clearly stratified, and well-organised system centred around Jiazishan. It further proposes targeted conservation strategies based on analysing the sociocultural struc-ture of the sites group. The findings of this article enrich research methodologies of prehistoric sites, aid in excavating their values and enhancing cultural functions, and provide reference for the study and conservation of prehistoric cultural heritage.
