Cultural Heritage Conservation from the Perspective of River Basin
Currently, cultural heritage conserva-tion is primarily managed within the boundaries of administrative divisions, which operates according to a logic quite different from that of the origins of human civilisation and heritage formation. It is widely recognised that early humans chose to settle near water sources, and river basin served as the cradles of human civilisation, witnessing the evolution of both urban and rural landscapes. Therefore, the human-water relationship can be considered the most intrinsic, enduring, and quin-tessential aspect of the broader human-land rela-tionship.This article investigates the systematic characteristics of'nature-human'coupling in cul-tural heritage conservation from the perspective of river basin. It proposes approaches such as con-structing a systemic multi-scale coordinated con-servation network, applying interdisciplinary in-tegration and data assimilation technologies, and developing adaptive responding strategies for dy-namic environmental changes.By analysing two typical cases of'human-water'interaction pat-terns within the'Yellow-Canal-Yangtze'water-shed community, the article provides a sustainable and integrated framework for the conservation and development of cultural heritage, grounded in the essence of heritage and aligned with contempo-rary demands for establishing comprehensive cul-tural heritage conservation system.
