It is urgent to improve the ethical review system for the welfare of experimental animals and maintain the biosafety of laboratories in China as a result of the Party and the state's recent proposals for strengthening biosafety management.Biosafety has been integrated into the national security system.Practical issues with China's experimental animal welfare ethical review system include unclear rights and obligations of review subjects,poor uniformity of review methods,and a lack of a review and supervision framework.Therefore,it is essential to take biosafety maintenance as a guide,clarify the rights and responsibilities of the subject of ethical review of experimental animal welfare,standardize the ethical review processes of experimental animal welfare,and enhance the framework for ethical review and supervision of experimental animal welfare in order to improve the system for ethical review of laboratory animals in China.
