Abstract
American sociologist Randall Collins proposed and explained the interactive ritual chain theory, emphasizing the four core elements of group agglomeration, exclusion of outsiders, mutual focus and shared emotional state, which has important guiding significance for the mental health education of college students. This paper examines the current status of college students'mental health education through the four core elements of the interactive ritual chain theory, and finds that there are problems such as the rise of virtual field, the single subject of education, the fuzzy focus of attention, and the lack of emotional experience. Then,it puts forward the relieving paths of creating a real situation, building a home-school-social community, focusing on clear goals, and emphasizing interactive participation,in order to promote the effective development of college students'mental health education.
