Taking Appraisal Theory as the analytical framework, this paper conducts an ecological harmonious discourse analysis of the original poem"Cooing and Wooing"and its two versions of English translation, and then explores the expressions of its ecological harmonious thoughts by the poet and the translators. It is found that Xu mostly adopts free translation while Waley tends to employ literal translation. In comparison,Xu's translation more effectively conveys the evaluative meaning of the original poem,as well as the harmonious ecological thoughts concerning the relationships between man and nature, man and man,and man and self.
