Expression and significance of the signal peptidase complex subunit 2 gene in papillary thyroid carci-noma
Objective To investigate the expression level and significance of the signal peptidase complex subunit 2(SPCS2)gene in papillary thyroid carcinoma(PTC).Methods UALCAN and HPA Databases were used to investigate the mRNA expression levels of SPCS2 in PTC tissue and normal tissue.Gepia Database was used to predict the influence of the expres-sion level of SPCS2 on the disease-free survival of PTC patients. The Cox regression model was used to investigate the independent risk factors for the prognosis of PTC patients.GO,KEGG,and GSEA analyses were performed for SPCS2 to identify the impor-tant signaling pathways involved in PTC.Results The mRNA expression levels of SPCS2 in PTC tissue were significantly lo-wer than those in normal tissue(Z=-43.219,P<0.001).The PTC patients with a high expression level of SPCS2 had a longer disease-free survival time than those with a low expression level of SPCS2(P<0.05).The Cox regression analysis showed that the low expression level SPCS2 in PTC patients was an independent risk factor for the poor prognosis of PTC patients(HR=0.573,P<0.05).The enrichment analysis showed that the oxidative phosphorylation pathway of mitochondria was enriched in the SPCS2 high expression group. Conclusion The expression level of SPCS2 is downregulated in PTC patients, and SPCS2 may partici-pate in the regulation of the oxidative phosphorylation pathway of mitochondria.SPCS2 may be an important biomarker for evalua-ting the prognosis of PTC patients.
