Problems and Strategies Faced by Overseas Hospital Engineering-Example of Central Province Hospital in Papua New Guinea
Papua New Guinea(PNG)is located in the southwestern Pacific Ocean, with more than 600 islands.PNG has only about 1,000 hospitals and a population of 3.5 million, which is higher than the World Health Organization's standard of five hospitals per 10,000 people. The medical needs in the PNG mainly come from three aspects:first, the demand for medical services from local residents, especially low-income groups;second, the shortage of medical staff, especially nursing staff in hospitals;third, the demand for overseas medical services, such as the assistance provided to PNG by medical institutions in China and other countries. This condition requires a large amount of capital investment, and economic problems have become one of the important factors affecting the construction of PNG hospitals.
