Experimental Research on Compression Characteristics of Waste Tire Particles Changing the Properties of Soft Soil
One-dimensional consolidation compression test is carried out for different content and size range of tire particles added into the soft soil to explore the effects of the particle contents and the size range on the compression properties of soil samples. The results show that the e~p curves of the soil sam-ple mixed with tire particles are similar to those of the pure soil, both decrease with the increase of the vertical pressure. The compression of soil samples at low pressure is greater than that at high pressure. The eL expresses an exponential fall tendency with the increase of the vertical pressure in the eL~p curve, the curves of the low contents are above the high contents.Under the same vertical pressure,as the particle size range increases, the eL increases significantly when the tire particle content is 15%and 35%,the eL of the soil samples with the content of 50%is basically the same and does not change much. The compression coefficient of the soil samples mixed with tire particles decreases with the increase of the vertical pressure.Under the same vertical pressure, the compression coefficient of the soil samples de-creases with the increase of the tire particle contents. The compressibility of soil samples is affected by the initial moisture content. With the increase of the contents,a1~2 decrease. With the increase of the particle size,a1~2 decreases. The prediction formula of compression coefficient is fitted.
