Permeability Behavior of Unsaturated Soil Slope under Relatively High Suction Conditions Related to Rainfall
Based on the dual-permeability model, the changes of volumetric water content and pore pres-sure in the process of water absorption and drainage of soil with well developed pores under relatively high suction conditions are divided into macropore and matrix behaviors in this paper. The results show that the critical drainage curve of matrix flow at the maximum soil water retention is calculated in the region where the volume water content and pore pressure are lower than the corresponding value at the beginning of rainfall. It is shown that the process of water absorption and drainage along the critical drainage curve corresponds to the test curve. In addition, when the macropore flow occurs, the distribution of volumetric water content and pore pressure becomes highly uneven, even if the measurement instrument value is set to 0.4m intervals, the synchronization of the calculated volumetric water content and pore pressure is also damaged. Therefore, the influence of the measurement interval must be considered when studying the measurement results.
