The method for identifying sexuality of Alissonotum impressicolle ArroW adults
Alissonotum impressicolle Arrow is an important underground pest on sugarcane. Rapid and accurate identifying adult sex has important significance for biology and ecology research of A. impressicolle. In this paper, adult sex was identified based on pygidium and sternum characters of abdomen, and calculated accuracy of identification. The results showed that in male, the pygidium was full,and bottom was blunt. The spacing of each abdominal segment was small and compact. In female, the center portion of pygidium was slight dent, and bottom was sharp. The spacing of each abdominal segment was wide and smooth. The accuracy of identification was 100%.
