Agricultural spray oils are green pesticides without pest resistance,which have traditionally been used to control small insect and mite pests for over a century.Spray oils,especially botanical spray oils,are seeing more recognition of their usefulness in modern pest management and their coordination with other green approaches of pest management.It can effectively promote the large-scale application of other green technologies for pest management including biological control,significantly improve their control efficiency and expand their applied range.An overview of the research and application background and significance,history and current situation of spray oils is provided,their components and mechanism of action against crop diseases and pests are sketched,and the future application prospect of them is also prospected in this article.
