Population dynamics and influencing factors of underground pests in Xinxiang,Henan Province
To clarify the species composition, annual dynamics and influencing factors of dominant population of underground pests in Xinxiang,we sampled beetles using pest monitoring lamps from 2015 to 2021.The results showed that Anomala corpulenta and Holotrichia parallela were the dominant populations in the wheat-corn(or peanut)double cropping system. The annual trapping number and proportion of H.parallela in the mixed population showed an increasing trend during 2015-2021.The occurrence of beetles showed single or double peaks in different years, and H.parallela appeared on the ground every two days, known as the circabidian rhythm. The peak period of light lure for H.parallela was from mid-June to early September and that for A.corpulenta was from late June to late August.Meanwhile, date of peak occurrence of H.parallela was later than that of A.corpulenta, with a 22-day maximum difference. The population dynamics of beetles are related to rainfall, humidity and temperature. This study provides a scientific basis for the early warning and integrated pest management of underground pests not only in the Xinxiang area, but also in the Huang-Huai-Hai Region.
