Application of new dispenser material in the lure of Spodoptera frugiperda
To provide an important theoretical basis for the long-term population monitoring of Spodoptera frugiperda,we compare the field attraction effects of different lures on S.frugiperda, and select the dispenser material for the best attractant with prolonged release duration. In this study,SA@Ca2+/PCL microsphere was used as lure dispenser material for S.frugiperda.The attraction effects of five different lure compounds in filed monitoring assays were compared.Besides, the release dynamics of pheromone components in lure 1 and lure 2,which were carried with two different dispenser materials were compared by gas chromatography. The results supported that SA@Ca2+/PCL microsphere enabled to release the pheromone component slowly, and the basic structure of the dispenser material remained stable after 2 months in the laboratory. The continuous trapping ability of five different lures were ranked as follows:lure 1>lure 5>lure 4>lure 3>lure 2.It was worthy to note that lure 1 kept strong attraction effect after 80 d in the field.By comparing the sustained-release properties of lure 1 and lure 2 with different attractant effects,it was found that the sustained-release effect of lure 1 with long duration on the pheromone components in field attractant was significantly better than that of lure 2.SA@Ca2+/PCL microsphere has strong dispenser capacity over 80 d,which cover the full damage cycle of S.frugiperda, and this lays an important foundation for the continuous monitoring population of S.frugiperda.
