The current situation of the occurrence and diffusion,control strategy of red imported fire ant in Guangxi
The red imported fire ant,Solenopsis invicta,is an incredibly dangerous and destructive invasive ant species,which is classified as both an import plant quarantine pest and a national agricultural plant quarantine pest in China.Since its initial discovery in Guangxi in 2005,the red imported fire ant has posed a significant threat to human and animal health,as well as agricultural and forestry production,the ecological environment and public facilities.Furthermore,their diffusion speed have accelerated,leading to an aggravation of the epidemic situation of the red imported fire ant in Guangxi.This paper aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the recent occurrence and spread of the red imported fire ant in Guangxi.It also summarizes the research measures in control technology and the measures that have been implemented.Additionally,it analyzes the main challenges associated with controlling S.invicta and proposes effective countermeasures and suggestions based on the current situation.The ultimate objective is to offer a valuable reference for the prevention and control of the red imported fire ant in Guangxi.
