Detoxification enzyme activity of Spodoptera exigua(Hübner)in different areas and synergistic effect of enzyme inhibitor
The activities of Multifunctional oxidase(MFO),Glutathione S-transferase(GST)and Carboxyl esterase(CarE)in four field(BY,HP,CM and JS)and sensitive populations of Spodoptera exigua were determined.Only the activities of MFO in 3 kinds of detoxification enzymes of the 4 field populations were significantly higher than those in sensitive population. Then the synergistic effect of Piperonyl butoxide(PBO),an inhibitor of MFO,on the resistant insecticides of BY and HP populations was tested by the leaf immersion method respectively. The results showed that PBO had significant synergistic effect on both populations when combined with Beta-cypermethrin,Emamectin benzoate and Chlorantraniliprole respectively. Therefore, the 3 preparations mentioned above at the maximum recommended dosage were mixed with 2 concentrations of PBO(100 mg/L and 50 mg/L)respectively.Compared with the maximum recommended dosage of the 3 preparations,PBO at 100 mg/L and 50 mg/L showed the obvious synergistic effects on Beta-cypermethrin,and PBO at 100 mg/L had a certain synergistic effects on Emamectin benzoate and Chlorantraniliprole. The results of this study provided technical support for developing effective strategies for the management of insecticide resistance in S.exigua.
