Electroantennogram and behavioral responses of male Eumerus seximaculatum to female gonadal compound(Diptera:Syrphidae)
Preliminary explore the main components and identify for its biological activity of the sex pheromone gland of female Eumerus seximaculatum.Provide a theoretical basis for the biological control of E.seximaculatum.In this study, gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(GC-MS)was used to analyze and identify the components of the gonadal compound of female flies. The components were screened, analyzed and determined according by the Electroantennogram(EAG)response and laboratory behavioral response of males. The results showed that a total of 31 chemical substances were identified in the gonadal compound of female flies.Five of them were chosen and five concentration gradients,as well as a control(0.01,0.1,1,10 and 100 μg/mL)were set by EAG test. The results showed that there were significant differences in the males of EAG sensitivity to different concentrations of the five chemicals. Two of them were the most sensitive and the sensitive concentrations were 1 μg/mL 1,4-Butanediol dimethacrylate,100 µg/mL Diisobutyl phthalate. The experiments of behavioral responses selection were carried out after the 1,4-Butanediol dimethacrylate acid and Diisobutyl phthalate with the different ratios of highest attraction rates to male. The results showed that with the greatest attraction effect to males at the ratio of 1∶3,which could reach more than 60%.In summary,1,4-Butanediol dimethacrylate and Diisobutyl phthalatewere most likely the important components of sex pheromone of females and had obvious attractant effect to males.A theoretical foundation for the development of sex attractant for the stem-boring flies of Cistanche deserticola.
