Advance in characteristics and invasion receptors of Israel acute paralysis virus(IAPV)
Israeli acute paralysis virus(Israeli acute paralysis virus,IAPV)is a kind of virus that is seriously harmful to honey bees, and its main characteristics are mainly manifested as strong infectivity and pathogenicity.IAPV infects a wide range of insects, encompassing not only Apis mellifera and Apis cerana, but also bumblebees, stingless bees, wasps, and ants,as well as Varroa destructor.Receptor is an important factor in determining its host range and tissue tropism, and one of the key steps of viral invasion is receptor binding. However,so far,the studies for IAPV or other honey bee viruses receptors are extremely scarce.NPC intracellular cholesterol transporter(NPC),a protein that transports cholesterol inside cells,is the intracellular receptor of a variety of insect viruses.Previous studies have shown that NPC may be involved in the infection process of honey bee viruses. This review summarizes the viral characteristics and invasion receptors, including the characteristics of viral molecular structure, epidemic and transmission, host range and infection mechanism, with a view to better understanding the pathogenesis of IAPV.
