Discussion on the industrial value of sedimentary limonite deposit in black rock series and associated molybdenum and zinc components in Lushi area,Henan
The sedimentary iron deposits are mainly hematite and magnetite type, and the sedimentary limo-nite deposits are rare. There are many examples of enrichment of Mo,Ni,V and PGE in black rock series, but there are few reports of sedimentary limonite deposits in black rock series, and there are no reports of Mo and Zn mineralization in sedimentary limonite deposits. In the black rock series of Sinian Dongpo Forma-tion in Lushi area of Henan Province, limonite mineralization is developed, accompanied by large-scale and high-intensity anomalies of molybdenum and zinc.It is considered to be'iron cap'by previous researches, and there is a potential to explore for the large sulfide primary deposit in the deep part.Through the redefini-tion of the ore-bearing construction of the iron deposit and the restoration of the metallogenic environment,as well as the tracing of the source of ore-forming materials, the detailed study of the metallogenic process is carried out.It is considered that the original metallogenic mode of iron mineralization in the area is sedimen-tary mineralization, mainly in the form of limonite, followed by hematite. The strong tectonic deformation in the later period has caused the ore body to undergo strong weathering and leaching, resulting in the genetic information of the deposit being covered up,which is a'false iron cap'.Molybdenum and zinc elements are adsorbed, carried and migrated by iron colloids and organic matter in the form of ions. They are unloaded and precipitated together in the specific parts. There is no independent molybdenum and zinc minerals pro-duced,and there is no industrial value for them.
