Application of transient surface wave method in foundation compaction test
Dynamic compaction is a commonly used foundation improvement method, and its inspection effec-tiveness is crucial. As an efficient and non-destructive foundation testing technique, the transient surface wave method has broad application prospects in dynamic compaction inspection. This paper summarizes and analyzes two case studies. The shallow plate load test alone is insufficient in providing a comprehensive and accurate reflection of the bearing capacity of the entire site due to its limited influence range of primary stres-ses.However,by employing the transient surface wave method to inspect the site before and after dynamic compaction,a qualitative evaluation of the treatment effectiveness can be obtained.Furthermore, based on the anomaly areas detected by the transient surface wave method, quantitative load tests are conducted spe-cifically targeting these areas, enabling the establishment of a correlation between the transient surface wave method and load testing. As a result, the efficiency and reliability of the inspection process can be signifi-cantly improved.
