Comprehensive prospecting study of the Chafang gold deposit in the Taiyuan area of northeastern Shanxi
The Chafang gold deposit is a typical gold deposit within the Shanxi Wutai Mountains-Hengshan gold mining district. This ariticle systematically summarized its geological, geophysical, and geochemical characteristics by comprehensive methods based on existing geological data. This exploration revealed that the deposit belongs to two genetic types:subvolcanic hydrothermal deposits and contact metasomatic-subvol-canic hydrothermal deposits. The geophysical and geochemical surveys in the mining area delineated anoma-lies that generally coincide with the ore bodies identified through geological exploration.Additionally, these surveys indicate the presence of blind ore bodies to the east, south, and at deeper levels of the known ore bodies.Furthermore, there is a semi-hidden rock body closely related to mineralization on the southern side of the mining area.
