Urban-rural Relationship in the Piloting Process of Chinese-style Modernization
The new path of Chinese-style modernization has been a difficult and tortuous process of exploration,and each stage has its distinct characteristics.Upon the founding of the People's Republic of China,the Commu-nist Party of China,with the long-term and fundamental interests of the people in its mind,took the establish-ment of an independent and complete industrial system as the primary task of modernization.Relying on its strong mobilizing and coordinating capabilities,the Party strove relentlessly for the goal and finally brought the country over the threshold of industrialization.After reform and opening up,the Party and the country adjusted the development strategies in a timely manner.By virtue of comparative advantages,China actively participated in the global industrial division of labor,with"Made in China"rapidly and iteratively upgraded in market com-petition.The two stages form a successive and organic whole.As a result,China has not only successfully made up the missed lessons of the first two industrial revolutions,but also caught up in the third industrial revolution and jumped to become the world's largest manufacturing country.In this process,the urban-rural relationship has always been subordinated to and served the overall national development strategy.In the new era,promo-tion of Chinese-style modernization must be based on the actual national conditions and the new stage of devel-opment,and coordinated efforts must be made to spur the transformation and upgrading of the manufacturing industry and the strategies of new urbanization and rural revitalization to make sure that the broad masses of the people can share the fruits of reform and development.
