Yu Hua's novel To Live has attained the status of a literary classic due to not only its own literary quality,aesthetic value and interpretive scope,but also its transmedia adaptation and dissemination.From the film To Live directed by Zhang Yimou in 1994 to the TV drama Fugui directed by Zhu Zheng in 2005,the novel To Live has been reconstructed,communicated and interpreted through transmedia film and TV adaptations.The remarkable success of this transmedia adaptation and communication has gradually turned the novel To Live into a literary classic.This indicates that in the context of media culture,the canonization and communication of literature are inseparable from the in-depth participation of film and television.Therefore,examining the unique empowering mode of film and television media will assist us in deeply understanding and grasping the transmedia generation and communication paths of literary classics.
