Through wavelength-dispersive X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy(WD-XRF),petrology,and X-ray powder diffraction(XRD)analysis,it was found that Dawenkou and Longshan-style pottery unearthed from the Jinzhai site was locally produced.Liangzhu,Dahecun,and some Qujialing-style pottery consists of locally produced emulations,but white Qujialing-style pottery was imported.Pottery production at the Jinzhai site indicates maintenance of stable traditions and specialization.Located at a cultural crossroads,the Jinzhai site saw the convergence of multiple cultures during the late Dawenkou culture period,which both delayed the decline of the Dawenkou culture and created a missing link in the cultural chain.
