From 2019 to 2020,the Sino-American Panlongcheng Joint Archaeological Team conducted excavations at the Yangjiawan North Slope of the Panlongcheng site and revealed four architectural features either laid with stone foundations or built with stone masonry for slope protection, collectively referred to as"stone-paved remains."The dates of these stone-paved remains and surrounding midden pits center on the latest stage of the Panlongcheng site. The construction of stone-paved remains was elaborate and does not represent a typical dwelling site. The site's association with large-scale architecture at Yangjiawan South Slope presumably points to ceremonial or sacrificial functions, providing important material for further understanding the settlement layout of the Yangjiawan locus in the latest stage of Panlongcheng.
