In the year 2021,the Jinan City Institute of Archaeology uncovered 12 late Yuan Dynasty tombs to the south of Zhangerzhuang Village,Dongjia Street,Jinan City.Among them,tomb No.9 was adorned with carved bricks and paint,with an intricate structure and murals that exhibited a diverse range of themes.Retrieved artifacts include porcelains,bronze coins,and tomb epitaphs.Tomb occupants were Guo Shigong(Guo Zheng)and their wives,ladies Feng and Wang.This discovery presents a valuable contribution to the periodization of late Yuan Dynasty tombs in Jinan and the broader Shandong region.It provides essential new material for study of the daily lives,customs,and religious beliefs of the landlord or affluent merchant class during this period.Additionally,it holds significance for investigation of population movements,burial customs,and the exchange and integration of cultural practices between Shandong and the Dadu region during the late Yuan Dynasty.
