In 2017,the Sichuan Provincial Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology et al.conducted excavations at the Lijiawan site, uncovering more than 600 features including midden pits and trenches, houses, post holes, burials, and roads, along with abundant artifacts made of pottery, stone, shell, and copper, etc.Unearthed deposits span three distinct periods:the Neolithic,Shang-Zhou,and Warring States through Han periods.Neolithic remains are attributed to the Henglanshan culture in the Anning River valley, while the Shang and Zhou period deposits are attributed to the Gaopo culture. These data further enrich cultural understandings of the pre-Qin period in the Anning River valley, holding great importance for study of archaeological cultures and settlement patterns in the Anning River valley and neighboring areas.
