In 2015,the Research Center for Chinese Frontier Archaeology,Jilin University and Jilin Provincial Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology conducted a survey of 195 earthen platform features at the Houmingziqu site and excavated No.2 building foundation site(J2)and B089 platform complexes within the northeastern courtyard in the middle area of the site.Excavations yielded architectural components and artifacts made of pottery, porcelain, bronze, iron, stone, and animal bone. This excavation confirmed the non-residential nature of structure J2 and revealed distinct functional differences among the platforms within the B089 complex. The Houmingziqu site stands as the largest known seasonal fishing and hunting campsite to date, offering new data for the study of Liao and Jin period archaeology and history.
