From 2013 to 2017,the Institute of Archaeology,CASS in collaboration with the Shanxi Provincial Institute of Archaeology et al.continuously conducted excavations on the presumed palatial city walls of the Taosi site.Excavations profiled the north wall(Q15)of the palatial city and its northeast corner,the east wall(Q10),the south wall(Q16)and its gate site,as well as the west wall(Q11).Additionally,the side gate at the southeast corner and the eastern gate site of the south wall were revealed in their entity.The total excavation area reaches 3,220.6 square meters.Years of archaeological excavation have elucidated the layout,structure,deposition,chronology,and developmental changes of palatial city walls at the Taosi site.
