From 2019 to 2022,the Shaanxi Sixth Work Team of the Institute of Archaeology,Chinese Academy of Social Sciences et al.,conducted three excavations at the Beiliu site in Weinan City,Shaanxi.Laoguantai culture remains mainly consisted of houses and midden pits.Detailed stratigraphic excavation and profiling of deposits in an area of house No.8(F8)have provided critical evidence for understanding and discussing the processes of use, remodeling, and abandonment of this house.Remains of the Miaodigou type uncovered during these excavations included houses, hearths, midden pits, midden ditches, pottery kilns, and tombs, all of which exhibit typical features of the Miaodigou type.Notably, painted pottery designs consisting solely of black and white round dots were discovered,a style previously unseen in Miaodigou type sites. These excavations have yielded new data for understanding the cultural landscape of the Guanzhong region during the Miaodigou type and Laoguantai culture periods.
