From March 2010 to January 2011,during excavation of the Daxinzhuang site conducted by the School of History and Culture at Shandong University et al.,one large-scale Shang Dynasty building foundation(F61)was uncovered.It displays a rectangular,colonnade style structure with surrounding corridors,measuring approximately 23 meters in length(east to west)and 11 meters in width(north to south),based on pillar base stones,including corridors.The total area is about 253 square meters.The building dates roughly to the period of the Huanbei Shang City phase.F61 is the largest high-ranking building foundation from the Middle Shang period discovered at the Daxinzhuang site to date,providing new evidence for understanding the nature of the Daxinzhuang site and offering valuable material for studying large-scale Shang architecture.
