摘要
本文从中西方文化差异着手，阐述了俗语的翻译方法。文中建议使用直译法，辅之以适当的注释。在直译法确不可行的情况下，借用和改写也不失为一种可行的代替手法。
Abstract
The thesis puts more emphasis on the translating strategies of idioms from a perspective of differences between Chinese and Western culture.Literal translation, along with annotations, is recommended in the thesis.Borrowing and adaptation are alternative ap-proaches when it is really impossible for the translator to do literal translation.
