Abstract
The emergence of blockchain technology signifies a significant transformation in the field of financial technology.Faced with issues such as information asymmetry, high costs, and inefficiency inherent in the centralized model of traditional insurance, the integration of blockchain technology with the insurance industry heralds a new chapter.Under such circumstance, exploring the application models of blockchain technology in the insurance sector and its impact on traditional insurance models is crucial for driving innovation in the insurance industry. This study investigated the influence of blockchain technology on risk-sharing mechanisms in insurance.Through optimizing the expected utility of policyholders in blockchain-based insurance,an optimal risk exchange structure was constructed.Furthermore, this study compared the characteristics and differences between traditional insurance,peer-to-peer(P2P)insurance,and blockchain insurance. The results of the study indicated that compared to P2P insurance, blockchain technology enhances the optimal risk-sharing ratio among policyholders, and this ratio is positively correlated with the market-based pricing ratio of blockchain insurance.Additionally, blockchain insurance can provide policyholders with greater expected utility, thereby promoting the long-term development of the insurance industry.
