Research on the Dynamic Evolution of Director Network from the Perspective of Stochastic Actor
Based on the longitudinal data of director network from 2012 to 2017,this study applied the stochastic actor-oriented model to explore the evolution of director network and revealed the driving factors that influence the evolution of director network.Specifically,this study divided the factors affecting the evolution of director network into two categories:network structures and actors'attributes,and then utilized the social network analysis tool RSiena to estimate the parameters of the factors and quantify the influencing degree of each factor.The results showed that in terms of network structure,the triadic closure structure had a significant impact on the formation of inter-firm linkage.As for the attributes of actors,enterprise size is an important factor in the selection of affiliated partners.Geographical proximity and industry proximity also have an important impact on the formation of inter-firm affiliation.The conclusion of this study not only provides reference and guidance for the construction and optimization of director network among firms,but also enlightens the supervision of regulators.
