A Comparative Study on the Factors Influencing China's Invest Motives in the Countries along and off the"Belt and Road"Initiatives from the Perspective of the"Strategic Tripod"
With the introduction of the"Belt and Road"policy,enterprises are enthusiastic about investment.As a national strategic emerging industry,foreign investment in the new energy industry is of great significance to its own development.Clarifying its investment trends in countries along and off the"Belt and Road"will help grasp policy opportunities and enable industrial development.Based on 416 outbound investment events of Chinese new energy enterprises by the Ministry of Commerce up to 2015,this study divided their investment motives into three categories:sales services,production and R&D,and engineering investment.From the theoretical framework of"strategic tripod",this research empirically studied the location advantages of the host countries along and off the"Belt and Road"that enterprises value based on different investment motives.The results showed that when investing in countries other than those along the"Belt and Road",Chinese new energy enterprises pay more attention to the political institution stability and infrastructure level of the host country,such as communication facilities and technology level;When investing in countries along the"Belt and Road",enterprises pay more attention to the business environment of the host country.
