Evaluation of Regional Innovation Coupling in China and Its Influencing Factors
Innovation is the primary driving force of China's modernization construction, and regional innovation is a key link in building a high-performance national innovation system. The evolution of regional innovation capacity can reflect the changes in the layout of national innovation resources. Therefore, this study explored the evolution of the coupling and coordination degree of basic innovation systems and technological innovation systems of 31 provinces in China, excluding Hong Kong,Macao and Taiwan, from 2009 to 2021 at macro, meso and micro levels,as well as the factors affecting the regional innovation capabilities. The results showed that China's regional innovation coupling degree presented the characteristics of most coupling matches and individual uneven development; The overall coordination of regional innovation coupling was increasing, with some regions leapfrogging ahead;Regional coupling co-ordination and STI capability showed a co-frequency variation relationship;Regional innovation output outcomes were highly correlated with the personnel, funds, and platforms in the region;Regional innovation output was strongly influenced by the inputs and outputs of technological innovation. Finally, countermeasures and suggestions for improving China's regional innovation capacity were proposed.
