Constructing a theoretical system of engineering education with Chinese characteristics is an urgent need for the development of China's engineering education disciplines.Since the founding of the People's Republic,China's modern engineering education has gone through years of tortuous exploration,resulting in a large-scale engineer training system.In 2022,the Ministry of Education launched a pilot second-level discipline of"Engineering Education"in ten universities across the country,and the research on engineering education has entered a new stage.In the second seminar of the pilot university alliance,this discussion was held and formed the Qizhen Consensus.Discipline construction is inseparable from the construction of a knowledge system,and there is an urgent need to establish a theoretical system of engineering education with Chinese characteristics,which is an inherent demand of the development of the second-level discipline of engineering education.It is also a theoretical need to solve the problem of"incompatibility"of western theories in guiding China's engineering education practice,a practical need to sum up China's rich practical experience in engineering education,and our era's need of independent training of elite engineers.To establish a theoretical system of engineering education with Chinese characteristics,it is necessary to comprehensively and profoundly grasp the characteristics of engineering education with Chinese characteristics,answer the questions about ten aspects of engineering education with Chinese characteristics,and make adequate preparations for the theoretical construction.
