A Study on the Development of the Green and Low-carbon Transformation of the Copper Industry in Yingtan City Driven by the Strategy of"Peak Carbon Dioxide Emissions and Carbon Neutrality"
China's industrial sector is facing enormous challenges in green transformation and devel-opment as the strategy of achieving the goals of peak carbon dioxide emissions and carbon neutrality has been advanced at a faster pace in recent years.Copper,a non-ferrous metal,is an important industrial raw material,and the copper industry is one of the supporting industries for achieving industrialization,as well as the key to high-quality economic development and achieving the goals of peak carbon dioxide emissions and carbon neutrality.Based on the context of setting the goals of peak carbon dioxide emis-sions and carbon neutrality in the new era,this paper makes a comprehensive analysis of the current sit-uation of Yingtan City in promoting the green and low-carbon development of its copper industry,as well as the challenges it faces in copper industry structure,carbon emission intensity,and low-carbon technology.Then it makes a comprehensive assessment of the paths for pursuing the green and low-car-bon development of its copper industry in the future.Finally,it puts forward some new approaches in-cluding promoting a copper-based new material industry,developing a recycled copper industry,ex-tending the industrial chain,and strengthening scientific and technological innovation,as well as some suggestions like establishing a green manufacturing system and improving relevant policies and support-ing facilities.
