A Study on the Coupling of the Carbon Emission Efficiency and Industrial Structure Upgrading in Jiangxi Province
This paper calculates the carbon emission efficiency with the super-efficiency SBM model that includes unexpected outputs.Based on the existing studies and extended coupling models,it classi-fies 11 cities with subordinate districts into multiple categories according to their coupling degree and characteristics as a way to examine the coupling relationship between the carbon emission efficiency and industrial structure upgrading of the cities with subordinate districts in Jiangxi Province.The results show that Jiangxi Province represents differences in the temporal and spatial patterns of carbon emission efficiency and industrial structure upgrading.From the perspective of regional distribution,there is no significant correlation among those cities,and the northwest region of Jiangxi Province needs to improve their overall carbon emission efficiency.From a temporal perspective,those cities have made slow but steady progress in their industrial structure upgrading since 2010,but their overall carbon emission effi-ciency has shown a downward trend,and there is a significant difference in upgrading level among them.Therefore,Jiangxi Province should coordinate the relationship between economic development and eco-logical civilization construction,and control carbon emissions while achieving industrial structure up-grading.
